The Usability Working Group (UWG) is an organization within the University of Michigan Library. It is comprised of librarians from several different libraries within the University. The group is responsible for the usability of pages within the libraries webspace. TechSmith is a software company based in Okemos, MI near Lansing. Their flagship product is Camtasia, which is what worked on. Together with a group of four other people, we reworked the interface for the callouts feature within the program. The feature was seldom used so researched to find out why and attempted to make it better. More >>
4-HELP is a computer help desk which is run by the University of Michigan Information Technology Central Services. The group I was part of was tasked with examining a procedure within the organization and analyzing. We found that there was some room for improvement and we made recommendations to address these issues. More >>
The Dish is a restaurant recommender system on a database backed website. It was developed completely with my first attempt at Ruby on Rails programming. It takes comments and tags from users and displays them so those who visit can find a restaurant in their area. More >>
